At 76, Ann Wilson Shares a Music Video for a New Song Released This Year
Ann Wilson released the official music video for “Me and Comanche” on November 6. The 76-year-old Heart singer posted the clip to her official YouTube channel, giving one of her songs with Tripsitter a fresh look after her return to performing following cancer treatment.
The video is the new release. Wilson and Tripsitter first put out the song as a single in August, and it later appeared on their second album together, Consecrated Ground, which reached streaming services in October.
The cover image for the clip finds Wilson beside a studio microphone, with keyboards and warm lamplight around her. It is a smaller setting than a Heart arena show, and it puts the focus on a singer telling a story in her own voice.
Wilson explained the story onstage in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in October. She said the song draws on the family history of her husband, Dean Wetter. As she told it, two German brothers married two Comanche sisters several generations ago. Wilson described the song as a version of that family story, shaped by imagination as well as memory.
Wilson disclosed in 2024 that she had undergone surgery to remove a cancerous growth and would have preventive chemotherapy. Heart postponed dates that year, then returned to the road in 2025. Wilson has since spoken publicly about how difficult treatment was and how it felt to get back to singing.
The new video is part of the work she has been doing alongside those Heart shows. Tripsitter give her room to make records with a different sound and write about people and memories close to her. Here, the story she first shared with an audience gets a video of its own.
