Yungblud’s Heartfelt Gift to Ozzy Before the Farewell Concert
The Back to the Beginning weekend was packed with special moments, but one of the most touching happened backstage before Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert. Yungblud, who had earlier energized the crowd with a memorable rendition of Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” surprised Ozzy with a meaningful gift to mark the occasion.
Yungblud handed Ozzy a chain with a cross, a gesture filled with significance. Years earlier, Ozzy himself had given Yungblud a cross—one the young rocker still proudly wears. Now, it was Yungblud’s turn to honor Ozzy’s influence and generosity.
Captured on video, Yungblud presented Ozzy with a wooden box holding the custom jewelry, saying, “Obviously you gave me your cross and I wanted to return the favor.” Ozzy was visibly moved, exclaiming, “Oh my god, that is unbelievable. That’s really good, thank you,” before hugging and kissing Yungblud on the cheek.
“Thank you for everything, man. It’s an honor. The whole city’s going mad,” Yungblud told Ozzy. Ozzy, always supportive, responded, “You got a No. 1 album? Good for you. Conquer America next. Just keep going. Don’t give in.”
Inside the box, an inscription in sterling silver read, “To Oz, I hope this brings you luck. Love always, Dom.” Yungblud added, “The cross is gold, and we put a couple diamonds in there.”
Ozzy thanked Yungblud for the heartfelt present, offering, “If there’s anything we can ever do for you…” But Yungblud replied, “You know what, the music was enough. You gave me a fucking outlet. Everyone thought I was too mad, and I was like, nah, man, I’m like Ozzy. So epic, man.”
It was a genuine exchange of respect and gratitude between two generations of rock rebels, perfectly capping off a night filled with history, emotion, and the spirit of rock and roll.
