Ozzy Osbourne’s Funeral Procession in Birmingham Will Be Broadcast Live to the World

Fans from all corners of the globe will be able to join Birmingham in bidding a final farewell to the late Ozzy Osbourne through a worldwide livestream of his funeral procession on Wednesday, July 30. This global event will bring together mourning fans everywhere, offering a chance to say goodbye to the “Prince of Darkness” as he takes his last journey through the streets that shaped his legendary career.
The procession is set to start at 1:00 PM BST (8:00 AM ET / 5:00 AM PT). For those who can’t make it to Birmingham, a dedicated livestream will be available on the official Black Sabbath Bench website, capturing the cortege as it passes the now-iconic landmark on Broad Street—a gathering place for tributes since Osbourne’s passing.
Before a private family service, the public procession will see Ozzy’s hearse travel through the heart of the city, accompanied by the sounds of local band Bostin’ Brass. The route will pass the Black Sabbath Bridge and bench, giving the Osbourne family a chance to see the sea of flowers and tributes left by thousands of devoted fans. According to The Guardian, Lord Mayor Zafar Iqbal emphasized the city’s commitment to providing a fitting and dignified tribute, with surviving Black Sabbath members expected to take part in the ceremony.
This poignant procession serves as a touching conclusion to an extraordinary final chapter in Ozzy’s life. The rock legend passed away on Tuesday, July 22, at age 76, just over two weeks after his triumphant farewell concert in his hometown.
That “Back To The Beginning” concert, held July 5 at Villa Park, was historic—not only as a sold-out stadium show but as the first time in nearly 20 years that the original Black Sabbath lineup reunited on stage. Despite his ongoing struggle with Parkinson’s disease, a visibly emotional Osbourne led the band from a custom black throne, powering through a setlist of iconic tracks: “War Pigs,” “N.I.B.,” “Iron Man,” and “Paranoid.”
Making the public procession available to a global audience offers one last chance for fans to be part of Ozzy’s farewell. Coming on the heels of his Freedom of the City honor and his unforgettable final concert, the event allows the world to join Birmingham in celebrating the legacy of a truly irreplaceable figure in music history.
