Black Sabbath Deliver a Triumphant Farewell Performance at the “Back to the Beginning” Concert

Black Sabbath, with all four original members reunited, took the stage for one final time at the “Back to the Beginning” concert on Saturday, July 5th, at Villa Park in their hometown of Birmingham, England. Their set served as the grand finale to an all-day event filled with performances from some of the biggest names in rock and metal.

Ozzy Osbourne, fresh from his own emotional solo set, joined guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward to thunderous applause. This marked their first show together since wrapping up their farewell tour in 2017, and their first time performing with Ward in two decades.

The pioneers of heavy metal kicked off the night with the explosive “War Pigs,” followed by crushing renditions of “Iron Man” and “N.I.B.” They closed their short but powerful set with the legendary “Paranoid,” as Ozzy shouted, “I fucking love you!” to the crowd while fireworks and confetti lit up the Birmingham sky.

Earlier in the day, the “Back to the Beginning” festival featured high-voltage sets from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, and more. The entire event became a celebration of rock history, culminating with Black Sabbath’s unforgettable farewell performance.
