This sweet performance between Hetfield and his daughter isn’t just a lovely moment; it also holds significant meaning. The performance took place at “Acoustic-4-A-Cure,” a concert founded by Hetfield and Sammy Hagar to raise funds and awareness for the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF. The event has featured some of music’s biggest names, including Billie Joe Armstrong, Jerry Cantrell, and Pat Monahan.
Metallica is one of the most successful metal bands and arguably one of the biggest bands the world has ever known. With a career spanning over 40 years, they’ve created some of the greatest metal hits ever, influencing countless other bands and musicians along the way. They continue to make music today, but their timeless classic albums will undoubtedly go down in history as some of metal’s defining moments. Take a listen below:
Not only is Metallica beloved by fans around the globe, but they are also internationally recognized for their monumental impact on the music industry. Their list of accolades is impressive, especially for a metal band, with some of their biggest hits earning them coveted Grammy Awards. Between 1990 and 1992, Metallica won Grammy Awards for ‘Best Metal Performance’ for “One,” “Stone Cold Crazy,” and their fifth, self-titled album, Metallica.
Throughout their 40-year history, Metallica’s lineup has remained largely consistent, with a few key exceptions. Bassist Cliff Burton was a revered figure in the metal community, significantly boosting the success of their 1984 record Ride the Lightning before his tragic death in 1986. Dave Mustaine was also briefly a member of Metallica before a disagreement led to his departure and the eventual formation of the legendary thrash band Megadeth.
